We’ve refreshed the Marketing & Branding Training to better support your chapter’s outreach and visibility. This updated training covers key tools, messaging guidance, and best practices to help you represent PORCH clearly and consistently in your community.
We also have new chapter logos! We’ve personalized the PORCH logo with your chapter name. These can be used on PORCH-branded items like yard signs and printed materials, as well as in your social media and newsletters.
To receive the training and your new logo:
Attend the May Monthly Forum on Tuesday, May 12, where we’ll review PORCH branding and messaging. We encourage you to invite neighborhood coordinators who represent PORCH on the chapter’s behalf
Can’t attend the forum? A scheduling link will be included in the May Forum Reminder. We’ll also send a separate email with additional details.
More information will be shared next week in the Monthly Forum Reminder.
New! MailChimp and Instagram Guides
Looking to strengthen communication with your volunteers and donors? We’ve created new Mailchimp and Instagram Guides to help chapters launch and manage newsletters and social media with confidence. PORCH Marietta uses Mailchimp for their newsletter
If you attend the forum, you will have completed the branding training and can request the guides to get started.
If you will not/could not able to attend the forum, you can schedule a branding training session (the link will be in the Monthly Forum Reminder email next week) to meet with Alyssa and Zakiya to set up either account. Note that you will be setting everything up from your account, as the Chapter Support team will not have access.
Updated Handbooks and Templates
We're updating the Startup Playbook and Neighborhood Coordinator Handbook for chapter leaders and neighborhood coordinators. The handbooks are ready to use as-is, as the remaining edits won’t impact their intent or value. These are intended as general guides for chapter leaders to use in their work and share with neighborhood coordinators, while recognizing that each chapter has its own processes, procedures, and expectations shaped by its community’s needs.
We’re exploring a chapter leader mentorship concept based on shared needs, experiences, and goals. We hope to build a stronger support network where leaders can exchange ideas, navigate challenges, and learn from one another.
In May, we’ll share a short survey on what would make a mentorship experience most useful, how this could be organized, what structure would be helpful, and what support would make participation meaningful and long-term.
We hope to create something practical, relevant, and supportive so that mentorship feels like a valuable extension of your work, not an added burden.
Social Media Spotlight: PORCH Wilmington
This story highlights how the consistency and reliability of PORCH benefit not only our pantry partners but also neighbors. When Hailey found herself with more food than she could use, Christine, the chapter leader, was able to collect it and include it in her monthly collection, ensuring it still reached those who needed it. Moments like these reflect the strength and flexibility of our network.
Please keep sharing your stories, we want to feature them in future newsletters.
1st collections: add names each month, 6th and 12th milestones.
Quarterly we'll add up the pounds
